Village Café Helps to Support Children In Need 20/11/23
On Friday, we put on our aprons for the mass production of soups before heading down to the Village Hall for our first Cafe of the year. We took this opportunity to continue our support for Children In Need.
We were joined by lots of parents and community members who feasted on soup, rolls, and numerous delicious cakes; washed down with a few cups of tea. The children, many of whom it was their first cafe, proudly served and chatted with their guests. We would like to thank the PTFA, and everyone who came to our cafe because they helped us to raise £130.30 as well as £23.50 for Children in Need. Thank you for your generosity!
Afterwards the chefs, waiters and waitresses all enjoyed some soup to re-energise after a very busy
afternoon.
We look forward to our next event!
Children In Need Special Breakfast 20/11/23
On Friday morning, some of the children were lucky enough to enjoy a special breakfast, very kindly cooked by Mrs Mills and Miss Gower in celebration of Children In Need. The children tucked into sausages, hash browns and baked beans- it all looked (and smelled) delicious!
Remembrance
Horning Primary school proudly walked to the church this morning.
They were praised by adults as to how they were able to stand, and pause for the two minute silence.
Harvest Celebration
A huge thank you to everyone who was able to join us on the last day of term at St Benedict’s Church for our Harvest celebration.
We sang our hearts out and shared topical presentations from both Fox and Otter class. Hedgehogs were not with us at church but they created a beautiful banner for our basket. Thank you too, for all the foods you kindly donated. We were able to offer a plentiful basket which will be distributed to the food bank.
It never ceases to amaze us how generous our small school community is.
Harvest begins the time for some animals to hibernate. Hedgehogs are just some of the
Creatures planning for this time.

Hello Yellow World Mental Health Day
The sun was shining on Tuesday as we donned on our yellow items to show our awareness for Mental Health Day. The bright colours and weather certainly lifted our spirits. The whole school was full of smiles and consideration for others. At lunchtime we spent our playtime hunting for clues on the field. Everyone joined together to support each other. During our afternoon assembly we thought about our own mental health and how we can support each other too. The winners from the scavenger hunt were drawn at random being awarded with a small prize.
It was uplifting to see everyone participating today and with the message of caring for yourself and others being the message we will all take forward in the coming weeks/months and terms of this school year. We all helped each other no matter which age group. Collaborative support !
